Related Companies has announced the reveal of an additional model residence inside Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28th. Spanning nearly 3,000sq. ft. with three bedrooms, Residence 25 marks the latest inside look at the West Chelsea building.
Outfitted by interior designer Eric Cohler, he honored Hadid’s vision in the latest residence by adding color through art, unusual textiles and comfortable furnishings. Each section of the living space invites conversation as it interacts with the other, from the living room which is clad by the curvaceous sofa, to the Eric Cohler custom console that hugs the sinuous curves of the wall panelling designed by Hadid.
The primary color scheme of the children’s room radiates a friendly environment for creative kids, whilst the color palette of the master bedroom is soft and textural, embracing principals of the Japanese aesthetic Wabi-Sabi. Cohler’s vision for the home brings a space which can accommodate a family of four in proximity to notable school systems such as Avenues: The World of School.
Two expansive outdoor balconies expose vast city views as well as an aerial look onto the neighborhood’s beloved High Line. “520 West 28th is pure sculpture. People who make a conscious decision to live here understand great architecture and the relationship of structures to their environment. Zaha Hadid was masterful in the way she torqued the façade, extenuating the horizontal plane while connecting the interior to the city beyond through an almost complete dissolve between the two,” explains designer Eric Cohler, regarding the opportunity to work within the model residence.
