Tom Dixon moves another step closer to total design-world domination with several stores opening across the US. Following on from their success of their inaugural Tom Dixon showroom in New York City they have up-scaled the commitment to the United States.
Their first of two new locations is in Los Angeles, CA, a retail presence which opened earlier this summer. Located in Platform, Culver City’s new 7,000 sq ft indoor-outdoor oasis, the first physical LA location fuses fashion, food and furnishings retail. Fostering a collaboration with multi-city fashion boutique CURVE, Tom Dixon is pushing the boundaries of a traditional retail space further. Aiming to provide a more engaging and active way of showcasing goods, they have also teamed up with real estate developer The Runyon Group to ensure the space is perfect.
A furry wall is just one of the unique design features of the New York large-scale showroom which opened on July 5th. Occupying a four-story building on Howard St. in SoHo, the space allows the brand to showcase their latest wares and innovations. The SoHo area of New York is currently in the midst of a Renaissance and revitalization, and has become an epicentre for likeminded food, hospitality, fashion and interiors ventures, making it the ideal location for the latest Tom Dixon showroom. One of the main aims of this new space is to offer spaces for the passing consumer, professional contract and wholesale business, alongside being a basement space for interior designers that is packed full of material samples, prototypes and decorative items on a consistently rotating schedule.
Described as ‘a living representation of the Tom Dixon mission’ this latest New York space will showcase the brand’s ability to manufacture products that are tough enough for the professional market and attractive enough for the home. The beautifully raw and classic Tom Dixon style of ‘unfinished’ interiors of this showroom provide a fittingly theatrical backdrop for their products. Highlighting futuristic lamps, heavyweight furniture and extraordinary accessories this space is another Tom Dixon success story.
