The 2015 Missoni Home collection has just been launched in Paris, and it is full of the vim and vigour expected from the industry’s most famous family-run fashion house. Aptly named the Lilium Multicolour collection, Rosita Missoni’s vibrant masterpieces have taken their inspiration from nature’s own masterpiece the lily, with the traditional Missoni style evident in each and every design.
As always there is a flavour of traditional Missoni style within the collection, the zigzag is ever present but the brand has put this collection’s focus on florals, reinterpreted in an abstract and more symbolic way. Designed to heighten the potential of an interior space, the varying patterns and textures used throughout the collection are made to mix and match together; complementing or clashing, anything goes. The distorted realism of flowers alongside vibrant striped and mellow shades are the perfect backdrop to the underlying theme of the seamless transition between fashion and interior style.
Sophisticated candy colours are splayed within a palette clearly inspired by nature, just as many of the prints and patterns used. Luscious greens intermingle with sea blues and sunset yellows. There is a cool intensity to many of the colours, serving to emphasise the animated shades and morphing faded tones. The collection encompasses everything needed to create a stylish setting in your home, from bed linen, throws, rugs and cushions to poufs and an outdoor suitable collection of soft furnishings. Across the range the various weaves of fabrics and colours complement and contrast against one another to create a sense of unity no matter what combination they find themselves in.
Intricate jacquards sit alongside a magical array of digital prints, richly textured fabrics and fading hues. This collection promised to inject a new life into your interior, throughout the home and even into your outdoor space. Alongside the kaleidoscopic bright colours, the Missoni Home 2015 collection also features many cream and warm brown outlined tones, ideal for a softer look or to mix with chosen shades.
Designed by Rosita Missoni, the collection remains true to the iconic Missoni identity yet brings a refreshingly modern feel to the favourite patterns and textures of yesterday. The Poppies Outdoor collection leads on from Lilium, and features a sharper and more sustained contrast of outlines with dense lines compared to the outdoor collections of seasons passed. The floral shapes and stylised blooms feel as though they could have been created with felt pen outlines, giving them a sense of youthful naivety that will awaken any outdoors space from the patio to poolside.
The table can also benefit from Missoni’s glamourous artistry with a luxury porcelain collection coming soon in collaboration with Richard Ginori. Spanning dinner plates, chargers, teacups, teapots and everything you need to dress the table in style. Featuring beautiful blooms and a rich & colourful palette similar to the Missoni Home 2015 collection, the tableware has also just been launched in Paris.
