La Perla, the lingerie and beachware brand synonymous with Italian luxury, have collaborated with world renowned Italian textile company Fazzini to create a contemporary luxury home linen range. Sharing a dedication to the excellence of the Made in Italy tradition, La Perla and Fazzini have let this inform the development of this new exclusive collection. Including bed linen, blankets, throws and towels, all made from the very finest of fabrics, the range encompasses the elegant style and atmosphere that La Perla is renowned for.
Launched at January’s Maison & Objet show, the stand was reminiscent of the new look Paris La Perla boutique. Each of the designs echo the iconic motifs seen in the world of La Perla womenswear and menswear. Within the new home range there are several collections, with either a feminine or masculine touch.
Embroidery on tulle takes center stage in the Maison collection, with an ultra-fine cord on pure silk satin and frastagilo work crafted entirely by hand. The duvet cover and duvet sets are seductively attractive thanks to precision work requiring the top quality and attention to detail of the artisans as Fazzini. This motif returns in Icona, with cotton sateen textiles. The spotlight is on Sfilata’s red classic sheets and duvet covers with delicate embroidery on cotton tulle and sateen, with designs inspired by an antique precious lace dating back to 1600.
The softness of cashmere envelops the ultra-pure blankets in untreated and unaltered natural colors for the masculine look, with the exception of pink and black. The large check motif features recurring colors which match the sets. For the bathroom, there are ultra-soft towels which are aesthetically attractive and have a thick, luxurious feel. These creations for the bathroom collection were made with the finest yarn, Fazzini’s ‘Coccola’. The feminine grace of the Lace towels echoes the lacework of the Margherita range. Feminine and seductive in both shape and color: black on black, nude with black lace, silk white, ivory and pink with white lace.
Fazzini is still a family run business, and although established in 1976 many generations of the families involved in this industrial venture had been working and ‘breathing’ the textile industry since the early 1900s. The company grew out of the joint experience of two historic firms: Ricamificio Zibetti which had already been involved in projects with exclusive fashion houses such as Armani, Valentino and Versace in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and the Franco Fazzini Company who specialized in the production of lining fabrics for garments.
The marriage of Stefano Fazzini and Maria Alberta, Zibetti saw the start of business that is now a state-of-the-art model in the creation of 100% Made in Italy household linen collections, with production and distribution systems based on quality, flexibility and efficiency. When Stefano Fazzini passed away prematurely in the early ‘90s, this female entrepreneur found the courage to take the reins and carry on the business, further expanding and modernizing it, and gaining major clients such as Coin and La Rinascente with private label collections. Under her rein and direction the company has now collaborated with La Perla to create this exquisite luxury home collection.
La Perla Home Collection is now available at Amara.
