Opening in February 2017, MADE comes to life as the first hotel project from hospitality entrepreneur Sam Gelin. Set at the intersection of 29th and Broadway in the NoMad neighbourhood, MADE is spread across 18 stories and houses 108 guest rooms.
Taking a reinvented approach towards the guest experience, Gelin treats experience as the new luxury and his thoughtful approach is seen in the rich, yet conscious, materials used throughout MADE’s crafted environment, the food and beverage offerings and public and private areas.
Upon entering the hotel guests will check into the reception in the open and airy lobby where in the morning, visitors will enjoy freshly ground coffee from seasonally rotating roasters. As the day leads into the late afternoon, guests can look forward to wrapping up business to enjoy the cordial atmosphere and plan their evenings. Dusk brings an energetic and social vibe to MADE, with cappuccinos disappearing in favour of craft cocktails and specially selected wines.
LA based interior design studio MAI had both contemporary and global minded individuals in mind when designing the property. Raw materials are seen throughout both public and in-room spaces including custom-dyed & handwoven fabrics, hand-painted wall tiles, exposed concrete tubs and hand-carved stone sinks. Precisely manufactured details like polished stainless steel mirrors contrast with a primitive, hand carved benches resulting in a well-thought through lay out like no other.
With an emotionally intelligent approach to service and a focus within the ethos of community, MADE is a seductive retreat where social and structural barriers have been removed to make room for authentic, inspiring interactions whilst blending exceptional service with bold design.
