Two leading luxury brands have united to create the latest addition to the Knightsbridge hotel scene, through a shared vision of timeless luxury. The Helen Green Design practice was appointed by The Berkeley to transform the three bedroom suite in the studio’s elegant yet liveable signature style. In keeping with The Berkeley’s continuing renovations, the suite required a temporary aesthetic and along with the three bespoke bedrooms, the studio were also tasked with crafting the decor of a drawing room, dining area, bathrooms and powder room within the expansive suite.
Overlooking St Paul’s Church, the suite has been created with the finest of luxury travellers in mind and the three bedrooms are linked by a private corridor to house individual guests or as a larger apartment. Each bedroom is unique in design but styled in response to the next. There is a cohesive flow which resonates from each bedroom with each one complementing and contrasting with the next along the corridor. The master bedroom which is already sprawling in itself also includes a private living room and roof terrace ensuring a tranquil escape no matter who the apartment is shared with.
The master bedroom is a testament to subtle luxury dominated by the two-tone timber headboard with sleek metal detailing and a smaller upholstered headboard to the front which softens the look. A palette of calming tones with accents of bronze and brass is classic of the Helen Green Design studio and has been incorporated throughout the room and the final finishing touches are in the form of the brand’s own Aura wallpaper along the panelling and a Getty Chair and Boho Drum Table also from the studio’s collection.
Numerous pieces from the Helen Green Design Collection have been utilized throughout giving a unique feel to the space and each item has been crafted by skilled artisans in either England or Wales. With every piece adding to the apartment’s contemporary elegance, the shining glory is the Oona chair which has been designed and crafted specifically for the suite at The Berkeley and offers soft curves and exquisite proportions. The drawing room is filled with a Vogue sofa and chairs which have been softly upholstered and the understated joinery in the room is in the house Oro finish complemented by a marble effect wall with delicate gold veining.
The other two bedroom suites are decorated to the same impeccably high standards as the first with one in a palette of soft dusky pinks and the other in greys and petrol blue. Each room is layered with texture and depth of color with the signature bronze accents adding glamour at every turn. The many bathrooms are in Italian sourced marble whereas the powder room is set apart in unique onyx adding interest and depth to the final room.
