The eagerly awaited exclusive Mulberry Home collection has just launched at Amara. Consisting of 27 pieces only available at Amara, the collection includes luxury cushions, draught excluders and door stops in the newest fabrics created for Mulberry.
Mulberry’s iconic prints and designs, such as their classic tartan, are present across the range alongside new prints for the season. The fabrics have been carefully selected by Amara’s creative director Sam Hood and turned into these exclusive home accessories, ideal for homes looking for luxury style with a heritage edge.
One of the stand out fabrics used is Saddle Blanket, a rustic striped embroidery inspired by the patterns and stitching techniques of North Africa. The type of cross stitch used was introduced from the Andalusia who fled to North Africa after the Christian Reconquista of Spain during the 16th century. Using a palette rich in ethnic hues this fabric works wonderfully well as a cushion and will bring an instant heritage feel to any living space.
Bohemian Travels Velvet is a romantic montage of vintage maps, conjuring up imaginings of historical journeys once taken across the globe. Printed onto soft velvet, this fabric has been used across cushions and door stops, ideal for adding a hint of wanderlust and nostalgia to the home.
Another striking fabric is Wild Geese depicting the majestic flight of these striking birds. This spirited print has been sourced from a pattern book held in the archives; originally produced around 1880-1900 as a silk velvet dress fabric. A fitting pattern for Mulberry’s traditional English roots can be found on the Game Birds fabric, featuring a group of English game birds at the heights of the season in a woodland setting. Their vivid, exuberant colours on velvet or linen bring this striking design to life.
The bold patterns can be complemented across the collection with further prints or with the range of tactile and elegant simpler style pieces. Beauly is a beautiful 100% wool mid-scale robust herringbone, woven in Scotland, which can be seen across cushions in several colourways. As a brand renowned for its craftsmanship it is no surprise to see a multitude of creative disciplines featured across the fabrics. A brilliant combination of multi-coloured printed squares on linen, the Dress Circle fabric features appliqued velvet rings surrounding a variety of embroidery stitches.
