Pastel hues complement the luxurious textures and nature-inspired patterns in the Enchanted interior trend. One of four new SS17 looks from A by Amara, Enchanted will refresh an interior whilst bringing a calming atmosphere to any space. Grant Pierrus, interior blogger at Interior Style Hunter and all-round home style guru, explores the Enchanted interior trend and how to bring it into your home….
Mention the word enchanted and immediately our imagination takes over and delves into another world. A magical place of picturesque landscapes with forests, flora and fauna and of course the daring and powerful characters and storylines that inhabit this space.
One of Amara’s new collections has been inspired by this fantasy natural world. Taking these fantastical elements and creating a soft elegant look that you can use at home to add enchantment to your own space.
“Inspired by natural and organic living within a cool and calming landscape. Each piece evokes a relaxing and elegant feel with the use of crisp linens and playful prints.”
Details to look out for in this collection is the use of beading, sharp florals and picturesque landscapes. The range of fabrics used; silk, velvet, linen and chiffon, make the range tactile and these fabric contrasts further enhance the varying textures.
The key to recreating this look for yourself at home is thinking about how you can enhance these natural organic designs beyond the product itself and extending the look into the rest of the room. Head down to your florist and ask for pussy willow or any other very long stemmed plants or flowers that you can either add to existing bouquets or create new displays. These long stems add a touch of whimsy to a space. If you are selecting plants, then the more foliage the plant has the better, you aren’t looking for anything geometric or architectural, soft and elegant works here.
Artwork is always an important factor in an interior and a room isn’t complete unless the walls are dressed. Look for prints or paintings with a base of pastel colors, this soft color palette will help to enhance the enchanted look. Again, look for shapes that are organic and elegant, not geometrical.
I love the idea of dressing a table for lunch with this whimsical collection. You can really pull all these tips together on a table, and if you do, be sure to share a photograph or two with us. Tabletop settings are a great place to explore and try your hand at creating a new look. Firstly, they are temporary and secondly, they are designed to show off and create an experience.
But most of all, have fun and be creative. The most important element to the concept of enchanting is that it should both surprise and evoke imagination.
