Dulux have started the colour trend predictions for next year with their announcement of their choice for Colour of the Year 2015, Copper Blush.
Partnering with Colour Futures, the annual trends and forecasting guide, Dulux is encouraging us to discover the magic in every day with their 2015 forecast theme ‘Everyday plus.’ A select panel of global colour and design experts have produced the guide which includes five main colour trends including the Colour of the Year. Each one is inspired by the one overarching idea of Everyday plus.
The versatility of Copper Blush makes it a fantastic choice, and one that will see it as inescapable in the world of interiors next year. A great complement to this year’s favourable colour and material of choice copper, this pinky orange tone will sit well against copper investment pieces from this year taking your from season to season. Layering with textures from glosses to matt woods, against whites or amongst darker tones, Copper Blush will work with many different interior schemes.
Senior Global Colour Designer at Dulux, Louise Tod explains; “The theme for the 12th edition of Colour Futures ‘Everyday Plus’ is about finding new, subtle ways to add colour to our lives, whether that is through exploring under-utilised spaces, in our relationships with each other or in the environment around us.”

At the Colour Futures conference held at the end of October, the expert trend forecasters told how the 2015 colour palette will see warmer hues replacing the cool blues and greens of recent years. With a warmer spectrum of pinks, reds and oranges, said to reflect a more positive global outlook, interior trends for 2015 are really hotting up.
‘All research points to this orangery, coppery tone, as witnessed at global events from Stockholm and Milan to Shanghai, metallic colour tones are playing an increasingly important role in modern design,’ comments Rebecca Williamson, Senior Colour Design & Content Manager at Dulux.
