One of the world’s most iconic luxury hotels, The Dorchester is a shining beacon in London attracting the globe’s elite to stay in its historic rooms and suites. The epitome of timeless glamour, it overlooks both Hyde Park and Mayfair and is a favorite stop for celebrities, world leaders, royalty and high society on their trips into the city. With specially commissioned fabrics, antique furniture and exceedingly comfortable beds, The Dorchester is also renowned for having the deepest baths in all of London, ideal for sinking into after a long day exploring and at Christmas this grande dame truly comes to life.
This Christmas the heart of the hotel, The Promenade, will be lined with 14 6ft English Christmas trees adorned with warm white lights and decorations in copper, burnt orange and rose gold. The colors were chosen to complement The Dorchester’s main festive attraction returning by popular demand. The Dorchester’s Gingerbread house offers a wealth of delights for guests this year and is crafted from gingerbread biscuits lovingly prepared in the hotel’s kitchen. With a front façade mimicking the hotel’s exterior, the back is crafted into a classic doll house design with miniature versions of key areas including The Penthouse & Pavilion, a Dorchester suite, an example of a classic room and The Grill Restaurant.
Accompanying the Gingerbread House, is the Sweet Emporium featuring all the aspects of a traditional sweet shop which will cure the sugary cravings of children and adults alike over the Christmas season, especially as The Dorchester’s own bespoke lollipops are on offer this year. The entire effect is finished with the inviting and cosy aroma of The Dorchester’s signature scented candles in – you guessed it – gingerbread, to create a festive environment you will never want to leave.
Fine dining comes hand in hand with The Dorchester as it is home to the UK’s only hotel restaurant with three Michelin-stars. Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester is orchestrated by Restaurant Director Damien Pepin and his talented team. Executive Chef Jocelyn Herland interprets the French inspired cuisine with a refined approach, by championing seasonal produce from the finest British and French suppliers. Offering a wide selection of sumptuous sweet treats and award winning dishes, the Christmas festivities at The Dorchester this year are not to be missed and there are numerous offers available for Christmas packages throughout December.
