Designers Guild have previewed their Autumn Winter 2016 Collection and it’s everything we’ve come to expect of the design powerhouse and more. Entitled Jardin Des Plantes, this comprehensive collection has taken inspiration from 17th century explorers and botanists. Thanks to their journeys to far-flung corners of the earth, they undiscovered flora & forna and recorded their findings with beautiful accuracy and stunning artistry. It is these drawings and artworks along with the passion for nature that helped to give birth to the idea of this latest collection.
Featuring exquisitely drawn flowers and bouquets, butterflies and birds in a painterly palette on a variety of base cloths, Designers Guild have created new collections which celebrate the evocative and lyrical art of the botanist.
“This season, our new collections celebrate the evocative and lyrical art of botanical illustration.” Tricia Guild.
Alongside striking new design updates, Tricia Guild and her talented team have also improved their ‘Essentials’ catalogue of timeless plain designs. New textures, Pavia, Brecon, Trevellas, Scala, & Nevada, have been added. The ‘Essentials’ range consists of over 4,500 luxurious plain fabrics; pure linens and robust cottons, sumptuous velvets and textured chenilles, wool and tweedy weaves, luxurious silks and satins. Essential to any scheme and for every home, hence the name. There are also 65 colours to choose from in parchment plain & striped wallpapers.
With so many different designs and colours to choose from, this is a wonderful collection to really transform you interior for the autumn winter season. Many of the wallpapers can be seen as modern art for the walls, and with lots of exquisite accessories too it is easy to mix and match and create your own individual scheme. Rich colours and varied textures across the soft furnishings will allow you to create a contemporary retro mood full of flora & fauna. From cushions and throws, to fabrics and wallpapers, there are accessories for every space.
‘Add warmth & instant style to your room with our exquisite rugs’ Tricia Guild
One of the new design additions, Charonda, is quite different from anything we have seen previously from Designers Guild. Featuring exquisitely drawn butterfly specimens, delicately coloured and printed on crisp, cool cotton it’s available in three colourways, jade, zinc & rose. Also available is Issoria, the same design but reduced in scale and printed on fabulous smooth cotton velvet, and available as a wallpaper print.
There are so many fabrics and design combinations available; Hemsley is a richly luxurious, deep pile striped velvet, wonderfully soft to the touch yet extraordinarily hard wearing so brilliant for stylish upholstery and available in seven colourways. Scala is a finely woven pure linen weave with a softly glazed finish in a delightful and versatile colour palette with many soft neutrals and including muted shades and more vibrant signature colours. Many of the fabric designs are extremely versatile, like Cusino, a flame retardant dim-out curtain fabric, a softly lustrous fine twill weave ideal for many applications.
‘Helping you to create beautiful spaces with style and personality is our passion at Designers Guild. Our wonderful collection of accessories has been carefully designed to offer you the perfect finishing touches and the last word in luxurious detail. I hope you enjoy them.’ Tricia Guild
