A by Amara Does Scandi

A tribute to the ultimate timeless design trend, this season we’ve gone all Scandinavian. A trend which somehow manages to always look contemporary no matter how many years pass, the Scandinavians have hit on a design powerhouse perfect for the new season, which Abode celebrates at every turn.

Cooling and calm, the clean lines, fresh neutral colour scheme and natural textures bring this look to life. A fresh look for the year ahead, the trend is perfect for starting anew in the home and gives you the chance to finally have a declutter to show off this look at its best.

Behind the Look

A firm favourite at Amara, Abode with its Scandi inspiration was a natural step for one of the new A by Amara trends. Sam shares how they put the look together and her favourite products…

We have always been Scandi mad at Amara and are so excited to pay tribute to this classic trend for the SS19 A by Amara collection. It’s what we all need for the new season with its pared back simplicity and my favourite pieces are the natural wooden bowl and boards. The knots and rings are fascinating without overpowering any space.

How to Get the Look: Quick Styling tips

Get the Abode Look in the Home…

  • Less is More.
Abode is a beautifully pared-back trend so should be kept this way throughout the home. Keep spaces decluttered with clever storage to make the understated accessories of this look shine.

  • Stick to Subtle Patterns.
A crisp, clean look is at the heart of Abode so keep the walls, furniture and large accessories, like bed linen, plain and layer subtle patterns through soft furnishings. Combine small scale geometrics with organic shapes for a simple pattern pop which doesn’t overwhelm.

  • Add Warmth
The cool palette of this trend is fabulous for the new season but don’t forget to add some warmth for the evenings with clusters of hurricanes, lanterns and candle holders in elegant wood and glass finishes.

  • Let Nature Do the Talking
Natural textures reign supreme in Abode. From polished and natural wooden finishes, to textured cotton and rope textiles, combining these natural materials bring the trend to life.
