Juliet Thornback and Delia Peel first met in 2003, and keeping their day jobs as a florist and theatre designer they embarked on their first collaboration. After creating at first a series of hand-printed clutch bags they then went on to set up a studio in 2006 at Cockpit Arts, London. One year later Thornback & Peel was established and soon their signature style emerged.
Creating beautiful, intricate screen-printed pieces for the home their designs combine modernist geometric patterns with 19th century wood engravings. Their work is inspired by eclectic influences including Mrs Beeton’s household management, Mr McGregor’s garden, and 17th century microscope imagery of the natural world.
Celebrating the quirkiness of British humour and design, Thornback & Peel are setting the standard for screen printed style.
