In 19th century Italy, Remigio Pratesi crafted exquisite linens for a beautiful woman in his village. Two years of dedication and painstakingly detailed creation eventually paid off when the woman married him, and by 1896 Remigio Pratesi was selling his luxurious bed linens to the royal family.
The brand, Pratesi, was officially founded in 1906, it is still run by the Pratesi family today and is now in its fourth generation who continue to work tirelessly to achieve the perfect balance between creativity, quality and technology.
Pratesi’s luxurious quality comes from their choice of raw materials found in a remote area of Southern Egypt. Holding one of the oldest contracts for Egyptian cotton in the region, Pratesi can be completely selective with the cotton used to make their bed linen and towelling, with only the first spinning ever purchased. The result of this selection is an extremely long thread which is woven into linens which are beautifully soft and luxurious.
