Normann Copenhagen was founded in 1999 by innovative designers Jan Anderson and Poul Madsen. Motivated by the desire to make a significant difference in the design industry, Anderson and Madsen began to develop products which stemmed from an original idea yet boasted a simple design. After the launch of its first product in 2002 – the Norm 69 lamp – Normann Copenhagen began to expand rapidly to develop bold and contemporary designs in a range of colour schemes.
Determined to create a unique retail environment, Normann Copenhagen moved from their small design store to an old cinema in Copenhagen in 2005. This flagship store is simultaneously an inspiration for customers and a great exhibition venue, and has won numerous prizes.
With brand mobility at the core of their beliefs, Anderson and Madsen have collaborated with exclusive design names and new talents from around the globe to produce innovative and unique products. Despite its rapidly expanding global market, Normann Copenhagen strives to go the extra mile for its customers and continuously challenges conventional design thinking.
