Melody Rose is an eclectic assortment of ceramics guaranteed to add artistic flair to every dining table. Launched in 2011, the quirky and quintessentially British designs are the brainchild of Melanie Roseveare, a Canadian-born designer who lives in London.
Inspired by the Grayson Perry Turner Prize winning show in 2004, Melanie left a career in marketing and returned to her first love, art. Seeing how the artist digitally-created transfers to transform his pots into art, she decided to learn the technique herself and ‘print’ ceramics.
Celebrating Britain’s gloriously quirky eccentricities the unique ceramic designs give a nod to some of Britain’s most sublime and madcap including Monty Python, Alexander McQueen and the natural history drawings of 19th century explorers. Created from the finest bone china at a third generation UK pottery based in Stroke-on-Trent, each set is gilded by hand and refired in a kiln with digital scans and transfers.
Melody Rose combines the best methods from Britain’s long ceramics heritage with modern techniques, transforming everyday tableware into an artist’s canvas. Ideal for bringing a sense of occasion to the often forgotten dining table, Melody Rose ceramics are sure to add a little mad hatter to every meal.
