Easy 4th of July Party Ideas
Jul 4, 2019
The 4th of July is a time for celebrating with those closest to you. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a large garden party, a patriotic 4th of July party gives you the perfect excuse to gather friends and family and enjoy good food together. To ensure you make the most of the time you have with your loved ones, we’ve come up with some easy 4th of July party ideas that are stress-free no matter how many you’re hosting for…
The Decor
The Appetizers
We know it’s cheesy… but food tastes better when it’s shared with friends. And that’s just how you should serve your appetisers this 4th of July. Don’t waste time in the kitchen preparing individual salads, gather your nearest and dearest and indulge in a little fondue. The perfect party starter, fondue is one of the simplest ways to feed a crowd. All you have to do is plate up your favourite savoury treats; breads, meats or vegetables -whatever you fancy. After all, everything tastes better when it’s dipped in cheese.
The Main Event
Heat up the grill and prepare a feast to remember. 4th of July celebrations call for hot coals and meats cooked low & slow. A backyard BBQ is a fuss-free way to feed a crowd and is perfect for informal celebrations. Ensure you’ve bought enough entrees & sides for each guest and finish the feast with crowd-pleasing snacks such as nachos, guacamole and grilled corn on the cob. If you marinade your meats and prepare sides before your guests arrive you will be free to kick back and tend to the grill during the party.
The Drinks
Stick with the informal theme and fill buckets of ice with beer, coolers & soda for guests to help themselves. For a drink that requires a little more effort, prepare jugs of white wine sangria or homemade lemonade and top with blueberries, raspberries and stars cut from thin slices of watermelon. Serve with kitsch cocktail accessories or even mini sparklers and toast with family and friends to the Founding Fathers of America.
The Entertainment
No 4th July party is complete without a game or two. Gather the kids (young and old) and work up an appetite before it’s time to feast. Head outside with childhood favourites such as bocce ball and badminton, or dive in with pool-friendly versions of old classics like volley ball and ring toss.
