Jonathan Adler’s mission is to bring modern American glamour to your life by creating a foundation of timelessly chic furniture and accessorizing with abandon. The brand began with pottery, when Jonathan first gave the pottery wheel a spin at summer camp when he was just 12 years old.
This new-found passion however was frequently discouraged and after his university professor told him, “You have no talent. Move to New York and become a lawyer,” he moved to the city and began working in entertainment business. Unhappy and unfulfilled with this new career, the pottery wheel still called to him and after three years he quit and returned to his dream.
In 1993, Barneys bought a collection of his ceramic pots, which let to him opening his first store in New York’s Soho district five years later. Today Jonathan Adler’s offerings span furniture, lighting and home decor, along with countless iconic interior projects and over 25 stores around the globe. Each piece is rooted in his commitment to outstanding design, impeccable materials, and unparalleled craftsmanship.
