Renowned for her bold use of colour and pattern in the home, Geraldine Tan, creator of Little Big Bell was an exceptional choice as ambassador of A by Amara’s new Arcade trend which is one of the two trends in the SS18 collection. Filled with bold colour pops, and electric patterns, Geraldine has showcased the trend in her home and here The LuxPad takes a look at how she’s styled it and how you can add colour to your own interior this year…
Decorate for Every Season
With the weather not able to make up its mind at the moment as to whether we are still in the depths of snowy winter or spring is finally here, Geraldine is determined to keep her interior flexible to combat any other weather changes on the horizon. The Arcade trend is a fabulous spring/summer look but the sunny colourways can also add much needed warmth and vibrancy to the winter months, ensuring the trend will see you through the whole year. The bright cushions combined with statement accessories such as the Parade yellow vase, are a look which colour fans will love every season.
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
Even though Geraldine is known for her bold use of colour in the home, there are still certain eye-catching looks she’s not too sure about which is the beauty of the Arcade trend – it invites you to step outside of your comfort zone. The colour black isn’t something seen too often in the Little Big Bell home but Geraldine decided to give the Dotted Lines rug a whirl anyway to see how it fitted with her living room design. Creating an ‘amazing visual impact’ according to Geraldine, the rug brought the rest of the pieces from the trend even more to life and added depth and a cosy feel to the space. To avoid pattern overload, Geraldine placed her plain white coffee table on top of the rug which is a fabulous tip for anyone looking to trial a dark patterned rug but wants a way to tame the design if it looks too much.
Move Beyond Main Living Spaces
Geraldine didn’t just update her living room with the Arcade trend, she also gave her office a mini makeover with key pieces from the look. Not just for the main living spaces, Arcade is fabulous for refreshing any space with a powerful colour pop and in an office where motivation is the key, it really comes into its own. Complementing her existing eye-catching prints, Geraldine utilised the Handmade Stardust and the Circus Stripe vases to add some fresh greenery to the room which instantly brightens the space to help clear the mind whilst working. The orange Jamboree Diamond Weave pot makes for a fun pen holder and the Ferris elephant trinket dish is perfect for keeping track of your smaller stationery pieces.
