Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons located in the heart of Oxfordshire is one of the finest country hotels in the United Kingdom. Created by renowned chef Raymond Blanc OBE as an outlet for his celebrated culinary wonders, the hotel offers one of Britain’s most sought after gastronomic experiences and holds not one, but two Michelin stars. Awarded both in 1984 in the year of its opening, Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons has held the prestigious awards ever since and the hotel is also home to the Raymond Blanc Cookery School, with the lush gardens providing organic produce for both this and the acclaimed restaurant.
Beautiful at any time throughout the year, the hotel can be only described as spectacular around the Christmas period when the grounds develop a festive frosty appearance or if guests are particularly lucky, a scattering of snow. Seasonal festivities are in abundance at this time of year and in 2015 two extra special experiences will be available. In the lead up to Christmas Belmond Le Manoir has joined with a selection of top choirs to offer nights of musical enchantment with the delights of Raymond Blanc’s cuisine. The Christmas Carol Concert Evenings will be held weekdays throughout early December. Each evening will commence with a Laurent-Perrier champagne reception before embarking on a torch lit walk to the nearby St Mary’s Church for the night’s concert performance from the likes of The Choir of Royal Holloway and Voices8. With a black tie dress code, the musical celebrations are followed by a five course meal created by Raymond Blanc and Gary Jones with selected wines from Belmond Le Manoir’s extensive wine cellar.
For a festive escape, Belmond Le Manoir offers two or three night hotel packages filled with seasonal delights. The unforgettable Christmas celebrations begin when the guests’ arrive on Christmas Eve and don’t finish until Boxing Day or Sunday 27th December. The highlight of each day is the specially prepared festive menus created by Raymond Blanc, Gary Jones and Benoit Blin inspired by French Noël and seasonal English traditions for guests to enjoy every night of their stay with the exception of Christmas Day when the eight course meal is served at lunchtime. A Christmas stay isn’t all about the cuisine however with a range of activities on offer to keep you entertained such as cookery demonstrations, wine tasting, parlour games and rare birds of prey displays in the grounds. With no detail too small to ensure every guest has a Christmas to remember, each room is adorned with its very own Christmas tree and on Christmas Eve night a gift is delivered to your hotel room door.
A stay at Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons makes for an unforgettable Christmas and more information on the Christmas Carol Concert Evenings and the special Festive breaks including tickets and pricing can be found on the hotel’s website.
