My name is Matthew Shaw, I am a husband, father, interior designer, blogger and content creator. I live in Surrey with my incredibly patient husband Andrew, our two beautiful "yet slightly feral" daughter's Poppy and Grace and Andrews mother who Andrew and I both care for as she battles with the end stages of dementia. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for all things interior design, over last few years It has upgraded to an obsession which has now become my full time career. My design style has definitely evolved over the years from dark and moody to a more fresh and natural vibe. When I’m not working you’ll find me with a paint brush in hand or moving furniture around the house, much to the family’s annoyance! Being dyslexic, writing a blog is something that has never come that easy to me. I find writing about my own experiences and the things that inspire me help make the process a lot easier, although sometimes it can take me a month to right just one blog post. (Thankfully my husband makes a wonderful proofreader and editor) Over the last year my blog has had to take a bit of a back seat, mainly due to family commitments, a global pandemic and quite frankly not enough hours in a day. I have been wanting to relaunch my blog for a while now, I’ve been working on new ideas but after not writing for some time, I’ve not felt like I have the confidence to start again. However, the thought that people are still reading and enjoying my blog and that someone has actually nominated me for a AMARA interior blog awards, well this just blows my mind, and it has definitely given me the boost I needed to get back in the game.
