At Amara, we’ve been helping customers create their dream home since 2005. Evolving from a single small boutique to the online home of vibrant interiors, we’ve come a long way in a short space of time. And in 2019 we partnered with the UK’s leading & longest established wedding list service company, The Wedding Shop, to help newlywed couples create their perfect home.

With an ever-growing product range, from world famous brands to up-and-coming designers that you need to know about, you’ll never know what you’ll uncover when you visit us.

Our Founders

During project managing the renovation of her own home, Sam Hood found it almost impossible to find her favourite homeware brands online. Sparking the idea for Amara. Combining her strengths with her husband Andrew, the pair, who never planned to start a business together before, took a leap of faith and created the Amara that we know and love today.

Before finding her love and flair for interior designs during her home renovations, Sam had always had an eye for style and enjoyed a career in retail fashion. It was here that she nurtured her innate styling talent and her ability to stay ahead of the trends.

Andrew Hood

Andrew Hood

Prior to co-founding Amara, Andrew had spent over twenty years as Head of Equity Trading at a large US investment bank. His business know-how and acumen were essential to Amara finding its feet and also making the leap to an online only business.

In 2011 the team was rewarded for all of their hard work beating off stiff competition to win an award for Best Online Customer Services. They continue to be dedicated and passionate about the vital role they play at Amara, striving to make sure each customer has an enjoyable shopping experience every time.

Customers can leave reviews on both the service they have received and the products themselves, and it gives us the ability to respond publicly to all queries, ensuring customers that we do our best every step of the way.

In March 2014 Amara was awarded Feefo's Gold Trusted Merchant award for providing consistantly outstanding customer service. This has pushed us even harder to maintain the high level we already have and will keep us motivated to provide an even better customer experience in the future.
