Scented taper candles bring back the memory of decorative candles used to embellish tables at the beginning of the 20th Century, thus reconnecting us with the early years of the brand, founded in 1884. Their botanical perfume prevails when opening the box; once lit up, the taper candles only diffuse a golden halo.
Fragrances:
Tomato: It is one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world. A fleshy berry from the Solanaceae family of plants, native to north-western South America, the tomato takes its name from the deformation of the Inca word ‘tomalt’. Its vegetable flavour, both tangy and sweet, evokes indulgence. Its green note places it in the heart of a field and suggests the smell of the tomato leaves.Jasmine: The sweet-smelling flower grows on an Indian shrub of the Oleaceae family. Cleopatra is said to have gone to meet Marc Antoine on a boat whose sails were coated with jasmine essence. Prized in perfumery, jasmine gives off sweet floral notes. Its powdery sweetness, typical of white flowers, is enveloping and diffuses generously.Cedar: A conifer of the Pinaceae family native to North Africa, cedar is an aromatic, durable and light wood. It has always been appreciated by cabinet makers and sculptors and is also known for its medicinal properties; its resin was used in ancient Egypt.
Cedar is a wood particularly prized in perfumery : it offers dry woody, enveloping and comforting notes. Its resinous base note also reveals a certain freshness.Spearmint: Its origin is uncertain, but it is probably the result of an ancient cross between two species of mint. From the Lamiaceae family, spearmint is a perennial plant known for its heady and subtle scent. Its herbaceous scent is slightly spicy, fresh and green. Its intoxicating and subtle smell is inseparable from the souks and palaces of North Africa.
