UPCOMING EVENTS
Restore & Reimagine
Wednesday 14th April at 5pm BST on @amaraliving
Upholsterer and interior designer @micaelasharpdesign and furniture restorer @williamkirkrestoration talk to Roddy about the joy of bringing new life to interior pieces, and how, through preserving the past, we can look forward to a brighter future for our homes.
The Panel
Will spent hours watching his carpenter grandfather tinker in his workshop, where his passion and interest in furniture was born. After studying at university, honing his skills and gaining a deeper knowledge of furniture restoration and conservation, Will set up his own workshop in 2012 and has been working on commissions for much-loved family heirlooms and larger corporate contracts ever since. Best known for his appearances on BBC One’s The Repair Shop since 2017, Will is also the resident furniture expert on BBC’s Morning Live.
Upholsterer, upcycler, and interior designer hailing from South London, Micaela Sharp creates colorful, vibrant spaces routed in tradition and craftsmanship. Growing up Micaela was taught carpentry and sewing by her family, so when it came to picking a career, upholstery was the perfect fit. Her sought-after talents and expertise have lent themselves to appearing on screen, with spots on BBC One’s Flipping Profit and Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend, this year Micaela also made it to the semi-finals of BBC Two’s Interior Design Masters.
Repurpose with Purpose
Wednesday 21st April at 5pm BST on @amaraliving
Roddy meets two amazing charities, @emmausuk and @restoration_stn, to discuss the vital work they do with local communities to restore and repurpose furniture, helping to divert it from rising landfill levels across the country.

Recycle in Style
Wednesday 28th April at 5pm BST on @amaraliving
In the last of our live Q&As, Roddy joins textile designer and craft influencer Zeena Shah (@heartzeena), alongside upcycling duo @patience_and_gough, to look at the fun and playfulness of upcycling and DIY, and how it brings happiness to the home.
The Panel
Upcycling duo Alice and Oliver have built their studio on their love reviving vintage designs into contemporary, yet timeless creations in their signature bold style. Since beginning Patience & Gough in 2015, their main aim is to tackle the waste and environmental impact caused by mass furniture production and they’ve also collaborated with retailers to create one-off and bespoke collections.
East London based Art Director and Stylist, Zeena Shah has a passion for color, prints, and pattern. After training at the Chelsea School of Art & Design, Zeena began her career as a print designer and after quickly realizing she loved sharing her skills she began running printmaking workshops from her studio. In 2016, Zeena launched her first book, How to Print Fabric, and has also made appearances on the BBC and Channel 4 sharing her creative knowhow. Online, Zeena is a color positivity inspiring content creator who encourages her followers to add more color to their lives.

The Conscious Consumer
Wednesday 7th April at 5pm BST on @amaraliving
In our first live Q&A, @roddyclarkedesign joins the MD of @anglepoise, Simon Terry; the founder of @graphenstonepaintsuk, Patrick Folkes; and interior designer Katie Seidler (@hello_haus) to discuss the power of shopping with a conscious mindset, and how brands and consumers can work closer together in the fight for a sustainable future.
The Panel
Serial entrepreneur since the ‘90s, Patrick Folkes was intrigued by the potential of Graphenstone, natural, highly-sustainable, air-purifying natural paints reinforced by graphene and introduced it to the UK in 2018. Launching the perfect product at a time of urgent need, Graphenstone is now one of the world’s most certified eco paints in the world with a list of UK clients.
Interior designer and co-founder of Hello Haus, Katie Seidler is an expert on how to create a timeless and less-wasteful home. Katie’s goal is for all homes to be somewhere her clients can retreat to and provide quiet from everyday noise and designing spaces with longevity in mind and avoiding trends that could be easily replaced after a few years.
Owner and joint managing director for renowned UK lighting manufacturer Anglepoise and the 5th generation of his family to be at the helm, Simon sees himself as custodian of the brand and its DNA. With a keen eye on the future and the legacy of Anglepoise, he’s focused on developing new meaningful collaborations as well as introducing new initiatives, reducing the use of single use plastics across the company and reinforcing the importance of designing a product that’s been built to last, not built to break.
