A Warm Welcome to Amara’s SEO Manager – Alina!
This week we catch up with a new member of the Amara team Alina! In between managing Amara’s hard working SEO Team we steal Alina away for a few minutes to find out more about her…
- What were you doing before you joined Amara?
I’ve been privileged to have the opportunity to work for the likes of Tesco, Debenhams and Carpetright. I always focused on SEO in one form or another and so have been in the digital marketing industry for 6 years. For the last 4 years I have also been a lifestyle and interiors blogger, which makes sense why I love Amara so much! My blog is called The Fairytale Pretty Picture and although I don’t blog as often as I have done in the past, I’m still using it as my creative outlet, as and when I fancy it.
- What is your role at Amara and what part of it do you enjoy the most?
I’m an SEO manager, leading a team of 4 who are split into three sub-teams; outreach, tech; and content. I haven’t had a team before so this has been an absolute joy. Not only am I able to lead the SEO strategy but also to help the team grow as individuals and pass on my skills. I would also say that I enjoy the hands-on relationships with website developments, which happen much quicker than what I was used to at my previous roles. Also, I was so proud to have been the only one at a conference last month who put my hand up to say that SEO is prioritised in my company. Most importantly though, I am excited to be working for a growing brand, especially for a brand that sells products that I personally love.
- Tell us something about you that might surprise us.
I was born in Russia and speak, write and read the language fluently even though I moved away when I was 1 to Israel. I came to London, UK just before my 8th birthday and now I live in Essex with my husband and white German Shepherd dog called Casper. Oh, I also used to be a Cheerleader and could do the splits!
- What does your perfect weekend look like?
On the beach with the family, eating donuts and ice cream!
- If you had to, what department would you swap with for one day?
At this very moment in time, I’d say either Studio at an off-site photoshoot day or Buying at a fair trip abroad, both of which sound fun and productive.
- What is one of the things on your bucket list?
I love books and reading and have been thinking about writing a story so I’d say that’s definitely something I’d like to do one day.
- Which three words describe you best?
Organised, enthusiastic and friendly.
- We all know that everyone at Amara loves their food! If you had to eat one meal/food, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’m going to cheat a little here and say I absolutely love fish so anything like calamari, grilled salmon or prawns. Rice accompanying those would make it the perfect meal.
