Scented candles can be immensely decorative as well as fragrant, and at the end of November the Evening Standard magazine featured 12 of their favourites. Included amongst them was Voluspa’s Maison Blanc ceramic candle in Gardenia Colonia from Amara.
Voluspa – Maison Blanc Ceramic Candle – Gardenia Colonia
This ceramic candle is fuelled by a love for art, fragrance & illumination. The scent features notes of gardenia blooms with creamy velvet and the wonderful art-deco design brings style and sophistication to any mantelpiece.
Voluspa – Ceramic Candles
Voluspa’s ceramic candles are available in numerous colours and fragrances and their stunning designs mean that they don’t even have to be burned- simply pair them up together for an elegant and classy look. Another idea is displaying them with their counterparts…

… for a well-matched look and an intense fragrance. Also available from Voluspa are tinned candles, fragrance diffusers and gift sets- perfect for Christmas.
Where do you display your scented candles? Do you burn your decorative ones, or keep them for people to admire?
L’Objet offer a wide array of striking home accessories with opulent and luxurious designs. Every item is made with only the very best material- from 24 carat gold to Swarovski crystals- and delicately handmade by the best artisans available. Understandably, cleaning and caring for your L’Objet product may be a daunting prospect. However, with the right knowledge it’s easy to keep the porcelain bright, the gold gleaming and the stainless steel shining.
Aegean – L’Objet
When it comes to porcelain pieces by L’Objet, each one is made from fine Limoges porcelain which is fairly easy to care for. Many of their collections (including Aegean white & Perlee white) are safe to use in the oven, microwave and dishwasher. However, pieces with hand-applied 24 carat gold or platinum are not suitable for the microwave and nickel-plated products are reactive with certain acidic foods, which may cause discolouration.
Aegean – L’Objet
Although it’s possible to wash L’Objet porcelain in the dishwasher, it’s best to do it by hand to preserve the textures and finishes, so use a mild soap or detergent and hand dry with a soft dish towel. When washing your porcelain in the dishwasher, it is advised to use a gentle cycle. Citrus soaps & detergents and cleaning agents with additives may damage your pieces, so avoid them for the best results.
L’Objet – Candles
In regards to porcelain candle holders, wiping them gently with a soft, damp cloth is all that is needed in order to preserve the 14 carat gold accents. Decorative treasures, they are wonderful to keep on display even when the candle has burned down or is no longer wanted. In order to remove the candle easily, simply place it into a freezer until the wax has fully hardened, then slip it from its holder. Rinse the holder beneath hot running water to dissolve any wax left behind.
L’Objet – Photo Frames
L’Objet photo frames are easily cared for, despite their detailed designs- each one is plated in either 14 carat gold or platinum and decorated with Swarovski crystals. No polishing is necessary, and every day dust and dirt can be carefully removed with a soft, damp cloth.
L’Objet – Serving Pieces
Lastly, the handles of many L’Objet serving pieces are hand sculpted and as a result hand washing is recommended for these particular pieces. Dry them manually with a soft dish towel and enjoy.
Despite a timeless quality that resonates with Old World charm, the L’Objet collections are something entirely new – graceful, detailed and rich in history, but thoroughly modern. Quality is the mantra of designer Elad Yifrach and every offering is his own original creation.
