Amara Raise £147.05 for Macmillan

Last Friday, Amara took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. Each department decided on a coffee morning treat to bake, resulting in both kitchens being filled with dozens of cakes, sweets and savouries to tuck into from 11am on Friday morning.

Never shy to embrace any food related event, eyes were definitely bigger than bellies as plates were piled high with home baked brownies, carrot cake slices, cheese twists and rocky roads to name a few. The Macmillan ‘guess how many spots on the cake game’ captured the attention of a few, as they painstakingly started mathematical calculations to work out the exact amount.

Amara Cycle the Flitch Way

With the autumn air closing in quickly, Team Amara used the excuse of a sunny Sunday to explore the countryside surrounding the Amara offices and cycle the 20 mile length of The Flitch Way. A former railway line running between Bishop’s Stortford and Braintree, the well surfaced route was a perfect opportunity for the team to bond over some light cycling and of course some obligatory pub and café stops on route.

Ivor Scores Seventh at Spa

Pro-am racing duo Amara board member Ivor and Johnny took on the penultimate round of racing last weekend at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, taking seventh position. Home of the Belgium Grand Prix, the circuit, opened in 1922 as a public road circuit, today stands as one of the most challenging yet favourite tracks anywhere in the world.
