The Monster Mash – Halloween Comes to Amara!

Up for any excuse to dress up and chow down some treats, team Amara celebrated Halloween in style. Arranged by Amara’s Social Committee, the team were treated to day full of spooky activities, games and all around ghoulish fun…




The day started with the team arriving in their finest Halloween costumes, included in the mix were Mike & Sully, Jigsaw, The Joker, a Ghostbuster, Scoobie-Doo, a bowl of sushi, Wednesday Addams, an astronaut, a cowboy with a few zombies and skeletons thrown in. It was a true monster mash!

The fun continued throughout the day with desk-to-desk trick-or-treating and various games in the staff room. The social committee transformed the staff room into a Halloween Horrorland, complete with spooky decorations and games. The team were treating to a mystery box game, apple bobbing, pumpkin weight guessing and pin the boo on the ghost!


  • The winner of the Mystery Box Game was Jessica in Buying guessing the closest weight at 2.15kg
  • Guessing 202 sweets, Maralyn from Merchandising won the sweet guessing game!

There could only be one winner and after the teams votes were checked JUSTINE from the Studio was crowned the Halloween Hero with her amazing Beetlejuice costume! Winning herself a well deserved £50.00 Virgin voucher.

The final decision of the day was the winner of the fierce pumpkin carving competition. It certainly was not an easy decision for Mr & Mrs Hood as the team had really outdone themselves this year, from sweet Mickey Mouse and a wolf to stitched faces and exposed skulls. The judging was tough with Andrew & Sam deciding that they needed the evening to think about it, the tension built overnight….

The grand revealing of the winner was on Wednesday morning and after careful consideration… Megan from Copy’s creepy exposed skull design was the crowned the winner! Congratulations to Megan and her winning pumpkin!
