Karen Attends Bruce Russell’s ‘At Home’ at The Savoy
On March 9th Head of PR, Karen, was invited to attend the latest production exhibited at The Savoy. Created by Bruce Russell, leading wedding and party planner and a name associated with flair, style and unforgettable occasions, ‘At Home’ showcased a transformation of the iconic venue’s River Room into a unique house party.
This annual industry showcase hinted toward the growing popularity of hosting at home, with a bespoke menu designed by The Savoy’s own creative culinary team, flowers by Wild About and a luxury dining table setting provided by Amara, featuring a few of our favourite pieces.
On arrival, the doorbell was promptly answered by the host himself, with an inviting nod to venture through the staged ‘house’ and explore each room. From a sing-along around the piano, to garden fountains filled with chocolate and time to soak in the bathroom, Karen enjoyed an evening filled with innovative party ideas.
The exquisitely decorated rooms boasted creative and quirky furnishings, put together by Bruce’s intricate knowledge of the industry. The barbecue in the garden served delicious nibbles, unsurprisingly cakes were to be found in the kitchen and a cheese board in the sitting room, with each room unveiling delightful discoveries at the excitement of each guest. The homely creation left every partygoer with a feeling of fun and happiness as they left the novel house
The successes of At Home continued long into the evening; dedicated to doing things differently Bruce Russell explains: “My aim was to deliver a truly memorable event: a one-off showcase of The Savoy which would live long in the memory of its guests. And so I focused on the guest experience, making them feel at home – literally – with a sense of fun, playfulness and joie de vivre.”
A fantastically unique occasion that has got all of us here at Amara wondering what quirks we can introduce to our next house party. Has the event sparked your imagination?
