Fundraising for Children in Need
Friday 18th November marks Children in Need’s Appeal Show and to do our bit for this inspirational charity, The Amara Social committee decided some yellow and spotty fancy dress was in order. And of course, we can’t throw a fundraising event without some delicious Friday treats!
As BBC’s official UK charity, every penny of the money raised goes to countless projects across the UK to improve the lives of disadvantaged young individuals. From those living in poverty to those abused, the charity believes every child in the UK should have a safe, happy and secure life and that is where the iconic big yellow bear steps in.
Taking Pudsey’s positive outlook on life, every Amara staff member was asked to dress in something yellow or spotty, or if a wardrobe favoured a black tone, to bring in a spotty food item for the kitchen and for everyone to donate some money to the Pudsey fund.
Staff have once again stepped up to the mark, with both office kitchens filled with delicious smarties cookies, Pom-Bear crisps, spotted doughnuts and even two impressive home baked cakes! With a sprinkling of brightly coloured tops and even some of Pudsey’s very own ears dotted around, Friday feeling is in the air.
A fun (and filling) day for a very serious and real cause and we look forward to counting up our Pudsey pots to add our contribution to what is sure to be an impressive overall amount. Don’t forget to tune into the Appeal Show tonight to see more inspired stories.
