The British Heart Foundation Fundraising Total is In!
Over the past two weeks we have held two events at Amara HQ to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. The first event was for the charity’s Wear It, Beat It Day on Friday 5th February when people across the whole country sported their favourite red hued clothing and donated money to the cause. Simply having to incorporate food into the equation, we also brought in all manner of red coloured treats for the team to enjoy throughout the day, which of course went down a storm.
The second event raising money for the British Heart Foundation was Pancake Day which this year fell on Tuesday 9th February and gave the Amara Team another excuse to wow everyone with their culinary creations. With two pancake makers set up in the Unit 5 boardroom, the team spent their lunch breaks trialling different filling combinations from both savoury and sweet selections. Particular favourites included ham cheese and pickle and Nutella and berries for sweet pancakes.
At Amara we are passionate about raising money for a fantastic cause, which is exactly what the British Heart Foundation is. They fight against cardiovascular disease with the aim of creating a world where people don’t die prematurely from the condition. It is estimated that there are currently 7 million people living with cardiovascular disease in the UK and all money donated goes towards cutting edge research to make help make this dream a reality. In our two events this year we managed to raise an impressive £173.74 across the two days which is now on its way to the charity!
A big thank you to everyone that took part and stay tuned into the Amara Blog for more charity event news throughout the year.
