Amara Fest 2018!
Friday June 1st saw the arrival of the first ever Amara Fest! Team Amara were encouraged to don their finest festival gear (think flower crowns, glitter and sunglasses) and enjoy and evening of live musicians, food and more. We take a look at some of the snaps taken by the team and what happened over the course of the evening!
The team spent the day at work taking sneaky peeks out of the window to see the marquee going up, copious amounts of food and drink arriving and the social committee blowing up balloons. After some manic running around getting festival-ready (there was a lot of glitter applying happening at desks) the team were allowed to enter Amara Fest 2018!
Donning their special Amara Fest wristbands (what festival would be without wristbands?), the team went all out on their festival inspired attire, from flower crowns and wellington boots to glitter everything and summer prints, team Amara were dressed to impress!
From a “pimp your prosecco” table to fruit cider and ales, the team had plenty of choices to toast Amara Fest 2018! A beer pong table was also included and had a queue of people desperate to play all evening!
As the party started, the team were treated to two musical acts from Ben Smith & Jason Rampling, both acts provided the team with acoustic renditions of favourite songs and their own original music. The perfect opening to Amara Fest!
Andrew showed off his flying skills and took some impressive aerial shots of Amara Fest!
When plenty of tipple is consumed, plenty of food must follow and the social committee did not disappoint! A wood fire pizza oven appeared for the team to taste an array of pizza slices, from pesto and cheese to chorizo and chicken. The team enjoyed plenty of pizza to soak up the drink!
For the main act, the social committee had booked Riot! an energetic trio who know just how to get the party started. The band wowed the crowd with their lively renditions of some of the team’s favourite bands, from Oasis and Kings Of Leon to The Beatles and Green Day.
As the evening drew on and Riot! were giving Amara the show of their lives, the band had a to deal with a few stage invaders! Where’s the bouncers when you them hey?
As the clock struck 11, Andrew closed the festival and everyone ushered into their cabs to take them home. How could it all be over already?
The whole team thoroughly enjoyed the first ever Amara Fest! Rumour has it plans for Amara Fest 2019 are already getting started…
