The Great Amara Catch Up With Graphic Design Manager Grace!
Today we spend some time catching with Graphic Design Manager Grace! A super talented individual, Grace has been part of the Amara family since 2013 and has lots of stories to tell!
- Hello Grace! What is your role and how long have you been at Amara?
I’ve been designing for Amara since 2013. Being the design manager is such an interesting role to have as every creative project passes by me first – I’ve worked on everything from exciting print work to on-site graphics. I’m also super lucky to create my own product designs for the A by Amara brand!
- What was your first impression of the company when you walked through the door?
I joined the company when I was just 17. The close-knit friendliness really struck me – I instantly felt like Amara had a really strong, family bond! Despite the staff numbers growing over the years and the team expanding into our other office unit, the passion and drive running through the veins of Team Amara has only ever grown stronger.
- Favourite part of Amara life?
For me, it has to be all of the perks we have for being a part of Team Amara. From every EPIC team party and humbling charity event through to our staff sales and the constant flow of food through the office. Ultimately, it’s knowing you are part of a team who are all working towards the same goals.
- If you could work in any other team for a day, which would it be and why?
I am torn! It would be incredible to visit all the buying shows to carefully select new brands and exciting products for the website… BUT, I love photography so I’d also really enjoy styling flatlays and shooting lifestyles at beautiful locations with the Studio team.
- What is your most memorable Amara moment?
I was tasked with designing a Formula 1 racing car for one of our board members, Ivor Dunbar. After following each triumph of the Ferrari as it whizzed through the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup, I then got to visit the team and see the car in real life. The day involved driving around the Silverstone track and being ‘chauffeur driven’ (rather quickly I might add!) by Johnny Mowlem. It was the most euphoric experience which I will never, ever forget!
- What couldn’t you live without and why?
Without a doubt, my family and friends! For their constant support and encouragement, if not the entertainment factor alone!
- If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
Having ‘Dr Doolittle’ abilities to talk to animals would be amazing. It would prove incredibly useful with our crazy bunch and certainly save some vet bills!
