As a former interior designer, Elad Yifrach has always had a discerning eye for style and decadent taste. When he could not find the fine tabletop decorations he wished to source for his clients he decided to take matters into his own hands. Inspired by his world travels and artisan craftsmanship he began designing products himself and L’Objet was created in 2004. Ready for the season ahead, he shares his top table setting tips below...
Crisp linens always set the tone. I am into light blues lately, they are elegant and casual at the same time, and provide a soft base for the table. For napkins, I like to introduce a little pattern like the blue leopard sateen linen napkins from our newest collection.
This season my favourite tableware is a mix of classic black and white patterns. I love the contrast and the way food looks on the black and white. They can be easily dressed up for a formal dinner or feel chic and casual.
Flowers and candles are my staple finishing touches. Long tapers are my personal choice.
Good entertaining should appeal to all five senses and good music is a key. Something soft and with good tempo to set the tone and warm the atmosphere. I go between Brazilian Jazz, classical music and tracks of artists from around the globe to give a sense of adventure.
Table accents that can spark a conversation are always a great idea. Beautiful napkin rings, whimsical salt and pepper shakers and other serving pieces that are unexpected will get the guests excited and bring humour to the table.
