Top 5 Toys & Games to Keep Little One’s Entertained

19 June 2020

A stay at home mum of four, Rosemary Bickers’ popular Instagram account, @home_with_Rose, focuses on the styling of their renovated Victorian home. She has a love of pastels and how to make interior styling work within a family environment. With Alf (9), Tom (7), Daisy (6) and Dottie (22 months), she knows a thing or two about keeping little ones entertained. Here she shares her top toys and games of the moment from the AMARA Kids collection.

1. Mia Doll, Meri Meri

If you’ve visited my page before you will know I’m a huge fan of Meri Meri! Whatever the product they always seem to create a big smile on my face when I receive them. The Mia doll couldn’t be more fitting with current movements. Her bright rainbow dress and rich black hair was an instant hit with Daisy. Rainbows have been our things these past few months so the cute little clip included was a lovely personal touch. Soft, bendy and lightweight, she’s the perfect Doll for little hands.

2. Wooden Family Bricks, OYOY

Compact puzzles are my favourite thing at the moment, especially when they are as cute as Wooden Family Bricks! The simplicity of threading different shapes onto a string surprisingly kept Daisy amused for quite some time. The tactile feel and sweet storage box makes it the perfect item for taking out and about to keep little ones amused.

3. Retro Doll Bed, OYOY

Unlike many I’m always thrilled when something arrives that you have to make. Not only does it give you great satisfaction but it also offers the chance for little ones to get involved in the making process. The gold screws on this Retro Doll Bed are a lovely added detail and once built (took less than 10 minutes) it was enjoyed by both the girls and even my 7 years old son. Perfect for imaginary play and storage for our ever growing collections of dolls.

4. Mango Wood Chess & Draughts Set, NKUKU

As always NKUKU will shine on presentation, craftsman ship and sustainability. This beautiful chess and draughts set would make the perfect gift for the young and old. Both my boys were taught draughts by my late father and this brought back many happy memories of my childhood. Although at first I thought it was a little pricey, I would absolutely give this 10/10. You can’t put a price on letting your son beat you at draughts.

Giant Animal Bubbles, Sunnylife

Lastly and our favourite of all the Giant Animal bubbles by Sunnylife. This Australian company had me hooked last year with their bright funky colours and cool tableware. Now they do toys so what’s not to love? I’ve never seen so many bubbles produced from such a small machine. Our mixture was gone within the first day mind, so be prepared to stock up, but honestly the most fun the kids (and adults) had in a while.
