Miss Blackbirdy is the wonderful creation of Merel Boers. With a passion for fashion and illustration Merel is inspired by the world around her, and has created a whole new universe in an illustrative and fashionable way.
After several successful projects she is now proud to present a beautiful high-end tableware concept. The collection consists of different tableware items and textiles, all in sophisticated black and white. Each piece is beautifully decorated with enchanting images that are in total contrast with reality. Miss Blackbirdy lives in an idyllic, magnificent world where black & white flowers, animals and imaginative figures exist.
Merel Boers has illustrated for clients like Elle Girl, Cosmo Girl, The Dutch Ministry of Culture & Science, and Port of Amsterdam. She has also won several awards for her designs including the Lancôme Colour Designs Award with her first illustrative fashion collection for the category ‘Modern Femininity’ in 2007.
