Every perfectly shaped glass from Riedel is designed around the exceptional characteristics of each grape variety, which in turn determines the shape, size & rim diameter of the bowl. This exquisite, delicate glass belongs to Riedel’s finest range is inspired by the Montrachet appellation in Burgundy. The wide mouth of this generously shaped glass steers the wine mainly to the sourness-sensitive edges of the tongue, ensuring that the acidity is sufficiently emphasised to create a harmonious balance with the luscious fruit of the late-harvest. The size of the bowl allows space for the rich bouquet to develop while minimising the risk of it becoming over concentrated. As with all of Riedel’s glasses, Sommieliers Montrachet Chardonnay is mouth blown by master craftsmen. A wide range of glasses, carafes and decanters are available, including the Black Tie and Vinum collections.
Riedel's glass making history dates back to 1678 in northern Bohemia, and so far 11 generations have been involved in the family business. Over 300 years later, Riedel are making the finest wine glasses combining optimum glass shape for maximum flavour delivery with exquisite balance and looks.
