Planes in Equilibrium

I took this photo
during a leisurely drive on a sunny December day on the California coast. This abstract
apparition is the famous bridge in Big Sur. Did you recognize it?

After
being away from black and white photography for a few years, I took
a long bicycle trip in Tenerife, with one of my goals being to see
the world through my black and white camera. Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain) is a
perfect backdrop for black and
white photography because the sun shines strongly and the landscape
is simple. These are residential apartments in the tiny town of
Alcala.

photograph was taken in Tenerife on the Puerto de la Cruz public square. You can't see it, but we are
next to the Atlantic ocean.

photograph was taken in Alcala again. I fell in love with this town. If you go, don't
miss staying at the (only) pensionzimmer, run by Domingo, who is an artist of many talents,
a cook, and former Argentinian dissident.
