Current Projects
- Since November 2007, I am a researcher with the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), supporting the New Horizons Pluto mission and continuing my circum/interplanetary dust charging and dynamics and the origin of water on the terrestrial planets.
- I am an affiliate (and previously an associate) researcher with the Planetary Science Institute (PSI).
- From January 2003-October 2007, I was at the Istituto di Fisica dello Spazio Interplanetario (IFSI), Nazionale Astrofisica Osservatorio, Rome, where I had scientific/mission work for existing and in-the-process-of-being- built infrared spectrometers on space missions: Cassini, Rosetta, Dawn.
- In July 2001, I completed a Physics PhD from Universität Heidelberg and Max Planck Institut für Kernphysik, researching the charged dust dynamics of the Jovian dust streams.
Here are some recent dust-related research papers that I've written or contributed to:
- Krüger, H. and Graps, A. coeditors, "Dust in Planetary Systems" (Workshop, September 26-30 2005, Kauai, Hawaii), ESA Publications, SP-643, January 2007.
Individual Chapters and Whole Book (PDF, 35 Mb), BibTeX file of the Book, Chapters at NASA ADS, Cover, Front Matter, Index, List of Participants.
- A. L. Graps, Green, S.F., McBride, N.M., McDonnell, J.A.M., Bunte, K., Svedhem, H., and Drolshagen, G., "GEO Debris and Interplanetary Dust: Fluxes and Charging Behavior", in "Dust in Planetary Systems", Krüger, H. and Graps, A. eds., ESA Publications, SP-643 in press (February 2007). arXiv archive, and in high resolution version.

- I wrote a popular science article about cosmic dust for the American astronomy magazine Sky and Telescope.
- "Dusty Phenomena in the Solar System", by Amara Graps and Antal Juhász, January 2001.
- Occasionally, I write popular science articles about astronomical or scientific computing for the British trade journal Scientific Computing World.
